ACF negotiations, led by UAW Vice President Cindy Estrada, are postponed until Ford has completed its voting process, which is a standard part of the standard minutes. More:UAW officials vote in favor of recommending ratify interim agreement with Ford DETROIT — The United Auto Workers union has reached a preliminary agreement with Ford after three days of intensive negotiations. So far, the provisional contract seems to be gaining support. It was approved by Ford workers at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant south of Detroit by UAW Local 3000, the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne by UAW Local 900, the Van Transmission Plant in Sterling Heights by UAW Local 2280, the Ford Rawsonville Plant in Ypsilanti by UAW 898, the New Model Programs Development Center in Allen Park by UAW Local 931. and the Buffalo Stamping Plant in New York by UAW Local 897. According to Gamble, this agreement provides a way for full-time agency workers to obtain full-time status and a way for all current Ford UAW members to pay in full. As with the GM agreement, a retirement incentive of $60,000 is proposed for all production employees and up to 200 skilled workers who retire under the normal and early provisions of the agreement. “Our national negotiators, elected by their local unions, voted unanimously to recommend the proposed interim agreement to the UAW-Ford National Council,” Rory Gamble, UAW vice president, said in a statement Wednesday. “During the General Motors strike, our bargaining team worked hard to maintain productive negotiations with Ford. Out of respect for our members, we will refrain from commenting or publishing the full details of the agreement until UAW Ford board executives meet and verify the details. Experts expected a provisional contract with Ford to arrive fairly quickly. GM and the UAW had to start from scratch to enter into a new four-year contract.

Negotiations with Ford – and fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, the latest Detroit automaker to negotiate a 2019 contract with the union – have the advantage of following the model set by GM.
